Yes, because if you have vision problems, you should be very careful about doing sports. Sport cannot completely cure an existing condition, such as farsightedness or nearsightedness, but it can prevent future problems and strengthen visual function.

What sports are suitable for people with sight problems?

The advantage of these sports is that they do not cause a rapid increase in heart rate and overall stress on the body and are not high intensity. They promote relaxation and rest and are suitable for all patients, regardless of age or activity level.

What should never be done?

Intense physical activity is contraindicated for people with certain vision problems.
This includes powerlifting, bodybuilding, acrobatics, gymnastics, and other high-intensity or high-impact sports. If you already participate in sports, it is important to consult your eye doctor before continuing. Exercise should be performed at a low to moderate intensity and preferably under the supervision of a qualified personal trainer.

Contact and combat sports such as boxing, wrestling, sambo, and martial arts are also contraindicated, as they significantly increase the risk of eye and head injuries.

These types of activities can lead to increased intraocular pressure, excessive eye strain, and a higher risk of trauma to the eyes or head. For people with eye diseases or reduced vision, uncontrolled physical stress may worsen existing conditions.

If you have vision problems, it is essential to take a responsible approach to physical activity. Exercises that are safe for others may not be suitable for you. Instead, consider low-impact activities such as walking outdoors at a moderate pace, light stretching, or gentle aerobic exercise. Even regular walking can support overall health and eye circulation while helping to avoid the negative effects of a sedentary lifestyle.
